If it's Wednesday, it must be time for the only regular critical coverage of Belo in its hometown, courtesy all-around-good-guy Eric Celeste. This week, he takes the temperature of the rank-and-filers in the wake of the circulation investigation?and layoff announceents. I'll update with the link once they get around to posting it, but the gist is this:

The well-nurtured and happy newsroom elves understand that their frank management team really has the best interests of the citizenry and employees at heart, and are fully aligned with Belo's revolutionary vision of improving news for tomorrow, profits be damned.?

Ooops. That was a typo. I meant, everybody's pissed and disillusioned, and nobody buys that the circ problem and layoffs are unrelated.
