El Periodismo 3.0

As word about us has leaked out over the net, it's been fun to see who is linking to us. Today I stumbled across Juan Varela's Spanish-language journalism blog. If Google's translation is basically right, he "gets" us better than many of the English-speakers who read The Daily Peg.

One thing he takes issue with us on is the Journalism 2.0 moniker. Here's Google's translation of his take:

I prefer Journalism 3.0 because 1.0 were to transfer analogical content to the cyberspace, 2.0 was the creation of content in the own Network and 3.0 aspire to socialize it.

Oh, and looking back to the post below:

Ambitious they are. There is no doubt.

In any language...

Follow the continuation link for Google's full semi-garbled translation.

Journalism 3,0 the hyperlocal revolution announces in blog In Pegasus News are convinced that they are going to revolutionize the media.  That is its objective:  the revolution through hyperlocal content aggressive, conceived and impregnated by the citizens and spread like conversation to the smaller possible cost.  Scythes will serve as test of a dough of extracted ideas of social means and the participativo media, that they call Journalism 2.0.  (Note of JV:  I prefer Journalism 3,0 because 1,0 were to transfer analogical content to the cyberspace, 2,0 was the creation of content in the own Network and 3,0 aspire to socialize it).  Later they promise to send a chain of HLCM (hyperlocal citizen´s average) in 25 cities dominated by a monopolistic newspaper.  Pegasus gathers thus one of the already traditional objectives of public journalism:  to avoid the process of monopolización of the local public space.  While it does not appear the engaged launching of Scythes are satisfied to blog where there are the no news, but an ignition debates to horse between the manifesto, the provocation and the critical reflection on essential concepts of the media and traditional means, the civic media and the participativo.  With this initiative they try to animate the debate and to recruit citizens journalists for its project of open content.  Type of contents, who elaborate them, distribution, publicity, model of business, objectivity and neutrality is more between the journalistic standards beaten by a project that already obtains great part of its objectives only with the reflection that proposes.  They will be hyperlocal because they are these are the type of the news to which they can have access and to reportear most of the citizens.  They will receive, but less than they can and they will make discounts to those who send information.  The more it is collaborated, the less it will be paid.  A shining idea for the participativo media.  Simple distribution through social means and technologies and of open code:  blogs, wikis, electronic mail, RSS, etc.  Payment of the publicity according to its effectiveness:  the concept of the contextual announcements transferred to all means.  Minimum structure of publishers to resist the received information:  the reporters are the citizens and the journalists hierarchize, order and, mainly, the precision and rigor of the information make sure.  Down the myth of the objectivity:  the reporterismo based on the experience more than in the observation.  The objective:  the attention.  That little and precious resource in the era of the informative saturation.  Before they had another binnacle, but it is clear that they are improving in elaborated his and discursivo pre-launch.  They appear like "a company of the local news that the model of local market, contained is reinventando and publicity".  Ambitious they are.  There is no doubt.  Behind an anonymous publisher and a unknown equipment.  They are justified saying that they have works in which they would request accounts to them if one knows that the project is his.  Will finish everything in a manifesto in form of blog?  When one reads all the ideas of the last together times therefore it seems it.  Pegasus News so far seems the manual of route of the modern means consultant.  Some we had been thankful that had appeared before.  Much work had saved us.  Some principles of Pegasus:  > > the information and the news is aggressive and totally local.  > > the users has many possibilities of choosing means.  Pegasus will make an effort in spreading information in so many average ones as it is technologically possible.  > > the means is a conversation, not a monólogo.  > > the consumers jeopardizes are better than the consumers than pay.  > > All the products and services will have the price that the technology allows to fix.  It worked '?  Other social means already are making it in different phases and diverse strategies.  Wikinews, the project of the news of the Wikipedia is in tests.  OhMyNews, the South Korean pioneer of the participativo media, begins to have benefits thanks to a monthly advertising means invoicing million dollars.  It has 38 professional publishers used and 32,000 citizen reporters who receive between 5 and 20 dollars according to their articles.  Goskokie.com, the student project of hyperlocal journalism follows its march without too much interest by the citizens.  Other very interesting projects like The Northwest Voice exist, that shares its participativo content in the Web and printed gratuitous editions.  Another evolved model more is the one of Village Soup, a participativo vestibule that there is founded two local editions of payment.  In Spain, What, the new gratuitous newspaper of Recoletos that announces for February of 2005, thinks to use the binnacles to collect of the citizens and to generate criteria for the selection of the news.  Other gratuitous ones as 20 Minutes have been time experienced with the information sent by the citizens from more traditional mechanisms.  The business of the participativo media advances.  Pegasus News Micro Persuasion|Stealth
