Oh, I don't know. First of all, the Morning News is indeed widely considered to have one of the best sports sections by folks who have educated opinions about that sort of thing.
But more importantly … remember that this letter was sufficiently newsworthy to justify printing it. The "lady loves hometown paper" story is the new "man bites dog."
