Local digs
Via Steve Rubel, learned of and became quite excited by Blogdigger's new local search feature. It's a great idea, but still has a ways to go -- the top result for Dallas and/or 75201 told me that the guys from Hypergene were in Dallas. And they were -- several years ago.
Others had similar experiences.
To pull local blogs, layered over a good topical filter. That would be mind-blowing.
UPDATE: In the comments, someone from Blogdigger points out that Hypergene's tags still indicate a Dallas locale, and that they're still improving their filters. Perhaps they should put a beta tag on the site.
Hi, I'm Greg from Blogdigger. Local is still in beta, we'll be improving the results and filtering over the next few weeks.
As for the Hypergene site, their meta-tags still say they're in Dallas (do a view source). Doin' the best we can. ;)
Thanks!

Thanks Greg. We missed that last year when we moved. Meta-tags have been updated on the blog. Was wondering though, doesn't blogdigger work on rss feeds, and not HTML meta tags?
