Help wanted:
"Citizen Journalists"

That's a fancy way of saying "people in the DFW area with day jobs who want to share their knowledge of things they're passionate about and that they think their neighbors will enjoy too."

We're looking for people who know more than we do about:

We're going to be taking submissions from all of our readers, but we'd like to line up as many people as possible so that we'll have a "there there" when we first launch our site. And, we want to deploy our paid staff resources to cover things that we think are crucial that our readers aren't covering.

We're particularly interested in working with high school and college students looking to build their clip library.

We'd also love to link up with bloggers who cover local topics who would enjoy the extra traffic we could help generate.

Don't just think writing: We want photographers, videographers and podcasters, too.

Regular contributors will get free subscriptions, plus in some cases, reimbursement for expenses (event tickets and the like). Plus, you'll get the recognition of your neighbors as an expert guide.

If you're interested, email us. Tell us what you're interested in covering, and why. If you've got a writing sample, include it; if not, no biggie.

I found our site on the JournalismJobs.com website, and have been on it for hours. I think it's great what you're doing. I haven't officially applied because I have no experience in Advertising, and I don't think I could be Curator-in-Chief, but I would love if I could help with the writing or even some copy editing.

I have experience in copy editing for a Texas newspaper and I interned at CitySearch.com.

I'll send you my resume.
